Spent 9 lovely days in Tasmania - seeing the sights. We travelled across on the Spirit of Tasmania and drove from Devonport to Strahan to Hobart to Launceston and finally back to Devonport.

Shortcuts that keep me Sane
Image via Wikipedia
Here are my favourite shortcuts that I use all day, every day.
CTRL-S - SAVE
Get into the habit of pressing CTRL-S often. It will save you a lot of heartache if your computer shuts down or you happen to lose a document - save, save save!
CTRL-A - selects all text in the document
CTRL-C - COPY
CTRL-X - CUT
CTRL-V - PASTE
CTRL-Z - UNDO. Very handy when something changes unexpectedly - just CTRL-Z and you're back to where you were.
F4 - REPEATS last action
CTRL-HOME - Takes you to the beginning of the document
CTRL-END - Takes you to the end of the document
Right Click - Brings up a select menu of options
You can generate the full list of all shortcuts from within word. Instructions on how to generate this list can be found at Print all microsoft word shortcuts keys
There are also some great resources online listing shortcuts available for different programs.

A New Year - A New Website
With a new year comes resolutions, aims and goals. Well I can tick off my first goal - to launch my redesigned website - http://www.assistanceplus.com.au/.
There are still things I want to improve, fix and add but it is to be an evolving thing and of course nothing is ever perfect. If I waited until I had it just right it would never be published.
I welcome you to visit my website and comment on what you like and don't like.

Progress of Assistance Plus
This is my first post to share the progress of my business - Assistance Plus.
Next is the coding of my site. The program I have decided to use is dreamweaver - I attended a CAE course "Web Standard Introduction" - great to get started but there is so much more to learn - I love a challenge though and especially enjoy learning new software. I am constantly learning about current html standards, css styles, metadata, keywords etc - the learning will be ongoing.
On to the content of my website. You would think I could just transfer all the content from my current site to the new design - but no, it needs new fresh words, extra pages of information - a complete rewrite. So this is where I am up to presently. Reviewing my content, adding the extra pages and hopefully have my new, redesigned website ready for publishing for all to see.
My first major task is the redesign of my current website (image of old website) - it is now 3 years old and desperately in need of a makeover. I have been busy researching other sites, deciding what I do and don't like. Over the past 2 months I have designed at least 4 different page mockups in photoshop. Just when I think its done I have a new idea or see a new website I like.
A first attempt - too purple! |
Another attempt - too green! |
Finally I have my home page design finished.Just right! |
